Memorial Day

Hey there!

I made you some cookies but they all got eaten except like 5. Guess I need to make a sign that says FOR PUKA. NO EATING. So I need to go buy the ingredients again. ha. We are doing okay here. I am taking classes this summer. At the U they often do half semester classes so from May 13th-June30th I will be taking 3 courses and from July 1st to August 1st I will be taking other courses. I love it. It's nice to be able to take 15 credits and not all at the same time! The only thing that is going to suck is one of my classes is only 1 week long. So It is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. THEN I have to go to my other classes that are from 4:30-8:00. This means I will be sitting in a classroom from 8:00 am - 8:00 PM! I have no idea when the heck I will do homework for that class! ha.

I'm getting nervous about teaching. THe hardest thing will be creating a lesson plan for the entire year! I'm already getting frustrated with the whole not being able to teach contraceptives thing. I guess we can only teach abstinence! Ugh that is so dumb! It's not like we advertise it and tell them how to do it. They already know how! We teach them to protect themselves because wether or not we tell them not to they will do it. Maybe even if we can teach more on teen pregnancy and STI's they will be less likely to do it. Anyway....
Kyden is doing great. He is already in the nursery at church. He LOVES it. I felt bad taking him out yesterday but I was falling asleep in class. Kyden hasn't been sleeping through the night for almost a month. His las molars are really painful and cause him to wake up. We missed 2 sundays this month already. It is so hard to go without Mike and his job only gives him 1-2 sundays off in each month :( So when I get plenty of rest we go without him. Other days we just don't. I'm excited though. Mike may be taking a new position in August. He will be working 7 days on, 7 days off. So he will for sure get at least half the Sundays off. I want him to find a job working Fridays and Saturdays 12 hour shifts. Since when I'm a teacher he wont need to work part time. This will be just so he can keep his benefits. We will be switching roles so he will be the stay at  home Dad while I work until he gets through school. Then I will quit and be home with the kids. Thats what I really want. To be the one with the children.

Cinco De Mayo weekend

It was so nice to see you and talk to you today. It was hard to leave Dad's house while you were still on but we had to get Kyden to sleep. I can't explain how much I love you and love the work you are doing! I don't know if I already told you but I didn't get that 10k scholarship. As a matter of fact I was furious because I didn't hear back from the department of education where I had applied for almost 100 scholarships. With a 3.8 accumulative GPA and a 3.9 GPA plus a ton of volunteer, and research hours I thought for sure they would have to give me scholarships. So I emailed them and they said I would hear from them on or before April 28th. Nothing. I was so mad, then last week I got an email that said I was recieving a scholarship. A full tuition waver for next fall and spring! I'm so excited! I wont have to pay any of the tuition so I get to keep the 5,500 dollar fafsa grant that usually pays my tuition! I'm so thrilled. I'm still hoping to get a few more scholarships to help with books. But It's nice that I don't have to take out as much student' loans to pay our bills while I'm only working part time! I am officially done with my bacholers degree! Yipee! I start my licencure year this fall and finish my student teaching next spring. This time next year I will be applying to work for schools! I will be a teacher before you get back :)
Mike is doing okay. He decided to work on his teaching licence while he tries to get into the radiology program. His back is still hurting even after all the physical therapy he has done so hopefully that gets better. You know how we bought plane tickets and we are trying to get the money back since we didn't go to Los Cabos, Mexico? Well maybe if we can't get the money back we can go see you ;) ha jk I don't think that's allowed, but it would be awesome to visit!
